There are several areas in Italy that are decidedly interesting for the cultivation of Pinot Noir. We believe that San Gimignano is one of these areas and we are ready to prove it.
Pinot noir from Panizzi quickly established itself as the winery’s iconic wine, and our the ambition to position San Gimignan as one of the interesting Italian origins for this grape. Panizzi Pinot Noir - for now the first and only in San Gimignano – comes from La Ventola vineyard, located at 410 m asl. 100% Pinot Noir grapes, with soft pressing, pre-fermentative maceration at low temperature, and 10 months in barrique (we came to understand that the oak aging is fundamental for Pinot Noir). The result is a complex wine, which at the same time evokes freshness, conviviality and cheerfulness.
