The results of the Decanter World Wine Awards, the largest and most prestigious wine competition, with excellent results for Panizzi wines:
Vigna Santa Margherita 2019 was awarded 96 points and the gold medal (one of only 48 gold medals awarded to Tuscany), Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2020 was awarded 92 points and the silver medal, and Vertunno Chianti Colli Senesi 2016 was awarded the bronze medal.
Decanter WWA 2021 was an edition with record numbers: 18,094 wines tasted from 56 countries. Over 15 consecutive days in June, nearly 170 expert wine judges, including 44 Masters of Wine and 11 Master Sommeliers, awarded 50 Best in Show, 79 Platinum, 635 Gold, 5,607 Silver and 8,332 Bronze. Italy won 7 Best in Show medals, with Tuscany taking first place with 48 Gold, 14 Platinum and 2 Best in Show medals.
