Decanter awards Vernaccia Riserva

A particularly prestigious accolade is the one that the Decanter World Wine Awards gave to Vernaccia Panizzi Riserva 2015, which, with an impressive 94 points, won the highest score for this appellation.

The Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA), which celebrated its 17th edition in 2020, is the world’s largest and most prestigious wine competition, internationally recognized for the reliability of its rigorous tasting and selection process.
“Ample, bright and richly textured, with a delicately smoky note that complements hints of peach jam, marmalade, cinnamon and honey”: this is the Decanter review for the 2015 Vernaccia Riserva Panizzi, which proves to be a true test case for Vernaccia’s extraordinary aging capabilities: made from 100% Vernaccia grapes, it is processed in new French barriques for 12 months, followed by 7/8 months of aging in steel and at least 24 months in the bottle.
